Biographies


 

The Sales Association management team is comprised of a diverse group of seasoned executives directing the association’s growth and providing industry leadership in the sales and business development profession.

Jeffrey Arnold, MAM, CAE
Executive Director


Jeff Arnold brings a combination of association experience and formal education to The Sales Association.  His present responsibilities include dealing with both the strategic and tactical aspects of running associations.  His special areas of expertise include working with boards and committees, certification, training programs, and membership systems.

In addition to his role on the leadership team of The Sales Association, Jeff is President of Leading Associations, an association management company, and serves as Executive Director of the North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI).

NATMI is an international professional association of trucking industry management professionals. Under Jeff's leadership, NATMI training program attendance and scope has increased, including both new content and expansion of training into four Canadian provinces.

Previous to Leading Associations, Jeff worked for the American Trucking Associations, Theta Xi Fraternity National Headquarters, the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (now the Association of Fundraising Professionals), and the Boy Scouts of America National Capital Area Council.

Jeff earned a Masters in Association Management from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelors of Science in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He is a past President of the Colorado Society of Association Executives (CSAE), and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives.  He was elected to the “Young and Aspiring Association Executive” class of 1999 by Association Trends Magazine.  Jeff has also served on the national Board of Directors for the Theta Xi Fraternity.


Robert D. Spangler, MPA
VP of Marketing and Operations

Rob Spangler offers  The Sales Association members  a combination of nonprofit and for-profit organizational management experience as well as formal education.  Rob's areas of expertise are organizational  business development, strategic planning, financial management, event management and volunteer management.

Under Rob's leadership, his clients  achieved tremendous gains  business development, market impact and financial stability .  His clients'  increased revenue is accompanied by sound cost controls.   Customer  service, image management, quality programming and striving for excellence are keys to  his success CHRA.  There is a new enthusiasm within the association. 

Over the years, Rob worked extensively with boards of directors, planned high-profile events and served as spokesperson for print, radio and television, as well as directed a public affairs television show.

Rob earned a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Fort Lewis College.  He is involved with  several professional and civic associations in the Denver area.


Troy Davis
Co-Founder and Director

Troy brings a unique and valuable mix of relationship building, strategic planning and business development talents toThe Sales Association.

Under Troy's leadership,The Sales Association has achieved tremendous gains from its humble beginnings as a newly formed association. In his role as President, Troy handles overseeing the association's overall success, growth, and direction.

A true student of sales, Troy's ability to build and maintain professional relationships has served him well in his career.

"To me, sales is all about relationships. You can have a product or service that is great, but if you can't be remembered over your competitors when the time comes for the customer to buy. it doesn't matter."

Troy's career spans over 13 years in the staffing and recruitment industry where he drives sales and business development for Phillips Personnel in Denver, Colorado.

Troy is an Honorably Discharged Veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army for 8 years.
